Are you qualified?

Yes. I have a certificate of competence to the latest version of the IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology) wiring regulations BS7671. I also have a City & Guilds Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures). That means that I have passed both theoretical and practical examinations demonstrating competence and skill across all the areas of work I undertake. I am early in my career and currently working towards a variety of more advanced certificates which will further expand my capabilities.

      Are there hidden fees?

No. I will always try to be as up front about costs as possible. Due to the nature of the work sometimes something can be discovered only after work has started that will cause the cost to rise, however I will do my best to let you know as soon as possible and provide a revised cost estimate

What payment methods do you accept?

I can accept cash payment for jobs, or payment via bank transfer. I can accept cheque payments but this is not a preferred method. I cannot accept payment via credit or debit card.

Can you dispose of the waste from a job?

There is no simple answer to this, it depends on what the waste is. We will dispose of waste of value free of charge, such as scrap cable, as the value of the waste covers our costs to dispose of it. Waste of no value like general waste or old appliances we generally do not dispose of. If we are to dispose of this a charge will be applied to cover the cost of disposal. For bulky waste you are unable to dispose of yourself I recommend a bulky waste collection from Highland Council which can be booked

      Do you markup materials?

Yes, I do apply a small premium onto the cost price. This is to cover both the administrative cost to order the items, the storage and to cover other consumables used on the job like screws or nails that cannot reasonably be billed individually.

      Are you insured?

Yes. I am fully insured. I have £1,000,000 in public liability. I also have £50,000 in professional indemnity cover.

Do you do fixed price jobs?

Yes. If a fixed price was quoted, we will always stick to it, unless there has been some sort of misrepresentation which invalidates the price. If an estimate is provided then it is just that, an estimate of what we think the cost will be. The final bill may work out as less than that, or more depending on if the job goes faster than expected or if we encounter unexpected problems which slow it down. The quote will make it clear if the price is fixed or an estimate.

Can I supply the materials myself?

Yes, you can, but please let us know before the job if you do not want us to supply some or all of the materials. Please also be aware that we reserve the right to refuse to fit anything you supply if we do not think it is safe, or that it does not meet the applicable safety standards we are legally required to follow.
We work with industry leading suppliers to ensure that all of the products we supply are of the highest quality. It is also worth considering that as a company we can usually secure better prices than you would be able to as an individual, even taking the mark-up into account.
